This scholarship Program provides scholarship holders with tuition-free education, a monthly stipend, medical insurance, and a monthly housing allowance.

What benefit Hungary scholarships does HEC focuses on providing?

The Hungarian Government fully funds the “Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program”, which provides tuition-free education at Hungarian higher education institutions, a monthly stipend, housing allowance, and medical insurance. Pakistani students who get the “Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarships in Hungary for Pakistani students” will receive the following financial coverage and benefits:

Tuition Cost:

“Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship” recipients at any study level, undergraduate or postgraduate, will be spared from tuition costs.

Stipend per month:

Students from Pakistan who are awarded the “Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarships in Hungary for Pakistani students” at the undergraduate and postgraduate (Masters) levels will receive HUF 40,460/- each month. This sum will be given to them as support for their living costs for the length of their study program till it is completed.

Stipend per month for postgraduate (Ph.D.) students: According to the Hungarian Government’s new legislation, Pakistani doctorate students who get the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship would receive HUF 140,000/- each month. This sum will be granted to Doctorate scholarship recipients for the length of their study program until it is completed.

Accommodation Allowance: 

Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship recipients at all study levels will get a dorm or a monthly contribution of HUF 40,000/- for off-campus housing. This sum will be provided for the length of the study program till it is completed.

Medical Insurance:

Scholarship recipients will be given a national health insurance card or additional medical insurance worth HUF 65 000/-year per person (under Hungarian Legislation Act No. 80 of 1997) to use for health care services while in Hungary until the end of the study program.

Documents Required for the Hungary Scholarship Request Form

All candidates, regardless of country, will be asked to fill out and save the essential information on the online application form in English.  Two photos of the applicant must be attached to the form; the photos must be no more than two years old. The student enrolling for an exchange study program (i.e. for one or two semesters) must state clearly and include the semester start date in the application form (i.e. September or February).

Writing a Motivational Letter for Scholarships in Hungary for Pakistani Students:

 Regardless of country or study level, all candidates are asked to submit a letter of motivation. The motivational letter must be prepared in the language of the course in Hungary for which they are applying. The motivational letter must be structured in “Times New Roman” with a font size of 12. Students will express their academic goals and motivation for applying for the particular study course. The length of the motivational letter must be at least one page.

Certificate of Language Proficiency:

Original, scanned language fluency test certificate with minimum passing grades specified by your host university and course requirements. The certificate of language skill must be translated into the language of the study program for which you are applying.

If the student has completed prior study programs in the same language as the one you are enrolling for admission through this scholarship, past degrees may be recognized as proof of language ability, but this relies on the requirements of your hosting school.

School diplomas and translations into the language of the chosen academic program or Hungarian:

A scanned copy of a Higher Secondary School Diploma or comparable certificate is required for admission to an undergraduate level full-time study program. 

You must produce a softcopy of your undergrad degree or an equivalent certificate that has been interpreted into the language of the school you are applying for, to be admitted to a full-time postgrad (Masters) study program.

Admission to a Doctorate (Ph.D.) program necessitates an attached softcopy of a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or Equivalent Certification that must be translated into the language of the institution for which you have applied.

A scanned copy of a higher secondary school diploma or comparable certificate translated into the same language is required for entrance to the preparatory course in Hungarian.

Transcripts of Academic Records in the Language of Application or Hungarian:

Scanned photocopies of authentic academic records, comprising degrees, certificates, and diplomas, as well as semester-by-semester documents translated into the language of the program for which you are applying. Only if they are not in the language of the study course you are applying for, or if they must be translated into Hungarian.

Record of Medical Fitness:

Scanned softcopy of original health examination certificate declaring that the applying applicant is in excellent health and does not have any contagious or infectious diseases that might damage public health.

The health examination certificate should show that the candidate is free of AIDS, HIV, and Hepatitis A, B, and C. A qualified physician must sign the health examination certificate.

It should be mentioned that, regardless of health examination approval from a candidate’s home country, a free medical examination will be undertaken by a hosting institution in Hungary prior to enrolment.

Identification Document Copies:

A scanned softcopy of the individual’s valid passport, (The passport’s personal records page and photo page is mandatory). If the candidate has not yet applied for a passport, a photocopy of the applicant’s national identity card can be submitted in place of the passport.

Approval of the Application Statement in the Online System:

All applicants must consent to the “Statement for Application” on the online form. After you have registered and provided the relevant papers, the statement of application will display on your online application system. To finalize the application submission, entrants must click the statement of application selection and accept it.

Additional Documents Required for Doctorate Program:

Research Proposal: 

A study proposal of at least two pages detailing your research technique, plan of action, and schedule will be requested.

Letters of Recommendation:

Two letters of recommendation from current or prior instructors or research supervisors of the candidate will be requested. Both letters must be translated into the language of the chosen study program and cannot be provided by the same tutor or supervisor.

Hungarian Scholarship Application Process

All scholarship applications from sending partners’ students will be processed using the “Tempus Public Foundation’s” online application system. Applicants must make an account and register themselves on the “Tempus Public Foundation’s” online application system.

Applicants will be granted access to the application page and the ability to upload relevant documents after registering on the website. Make certain that you carefully fill out the relevant information on the web form, leaving no blank spaces, and that you provide accurate information.

After filling out the form, submit it; since it will only be approved if you click the submit button. It should be reminded that no application will be approved unless it is submitted electronically and before the application submission date. It is not required to submit any papers in physical copy.

Do’s and Don’ts of the Application Process:

  • Before completing the application, be certain that you have read and understood all of the sections. Check the eligibility conditions (age limit, entry requirements, and nationality conditions.

  • Check that the study course you’re registering for is the same one you plan to choose. There is a distinction between exchange study programs, full-time study programs, and partial or preparation study programs, for example. You cannot undo your application after you have clicked the submit button. Recheck it carefully and double-check that all of the information you submitted on the online form is correct.
  • Please make sure the documents you upload are no greater than 4 MB. They are open-able and in the format specified on the form.
  • Your application form must be filed within the application deadline, and it will be submitted via the internet portals of both the Tempus Public Foundation and the Sending Partner’s concerned departments.
  • Only the content you have entered will be saved; the application will not be submitted. The application will only be processed if you click on the submit button at the end of the page.
  • After registering on the websites of both “Tempus Public Foundation” and the relevant authorities of the Sending Partners, write down and save your login information and username. Because the e-mail address and login information you gave when completing the registration will be your sole contact information and will be used to reach you.
  • When you submit your application, the registration number provided to you will act as your identification and will be used to log in to your user-id at Tempus Public Foundation. This will be your roll number if you become successful in getting a scholarship.
  • It is strongly advised that you register for two different study programs based on your choices to improve your chances of acceptance.

Hungarian Scholarships Duration, Application Date, and Deadline

The date for submitting a “Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship” application varies per region and may differ from one another. It is advisable to obtain information from your country’s sending partner for the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship (For Pakistani Students that is the Higher Education Commission HEC). However, in most circumstances, all essential documentation and scholarship applications for the year must be filed by January.  

The technical verification and selection process of applicants is normally completed by February, and the second selection step, which includes the institutional admission procedure, will continue from March through May.

Applicants will be informed of the finalized decision and application results by the end of June. Visa processing will continue from June through July, and scholarship recipients will arrive in Hungary by September.
